Lin-Manuel Miranda has been doing his best to become a triple threat, from writing and composing Broadway’s Hamilton to starring as Eliza in the hit film adaptation.
However, the show will not go on this Christmas – unless it is extended. Miranda has now offered fans a glimmer of hope by promising the film will start filming in 2019.
Before A Bronx Tale came along, Miranda had five shows on Broadway, as well as The Inbetweeners and In the Heights.
He wrote the music for every stage show and also wrote the lyrics, but now he is the director, producer and star of the Broadway show, as well as writing the material for the film.
As if that isn’t enough, he also does TV and film.
So does that mean there is a movie in the works? Not likely. Miranda told fans on Twitter that he wanted to take some time off, then come back with “Encanto”.
Hey y’all, I just can’t promise that we’ll be opening the show anytime soon, but I’ll give you this promise: we are planning for a film version of A Bronx Tale. — Lin-Manuel Miranda (@Lin_Manuel) December 25, 2018
Celebrities who have also been hard at work on the film include Mark Wahlberg, John Leguizamo, Lupita Nyong’o, and Robert De Niro.
