Chelsea host Russian champions Zenit Saint Petersburg in tonight’s Champions League opener and the former Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti could be the main talking point after being appointed as their new manager for the rest of the season.

The Italian’s side will start the Group C clash with a 100% record after victories over Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne and Spanish side Las Palmas in their Champions League qualifying fixtures so far.

The reigning Russian champions will be without Portugal’s Renato Sanches (suspended) and Brazil’s Douglas Costa (calf injury) for the game in west London and there is some extra spice to proceedings after Ancelotti previously coached Chelsea under Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.
